Anna has worked as a professional ecologist since 2009. She has been a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) since 2011.
Anna is accomplished in both project management and direction and has worked with both private and public sector clients on schemes of varying size and complexity; from small dwellings with minimal constraints to large-scale infrastructure projects with multiple, and at times conflicting, ecological considerations.
Anna has an excellent understanding of the legislation and planning policy relating to the natural environment and is well versed in its practical application to support clients and facilitate development. She also holds protected species licences for bats, dormouse and great crested newt and has prepared and secured numerous European Protected Species Mitigation (EPSM) Licence applications for bats.
Anna regularly undertakes ecological appraisals and impact assessments, provides technical advice on ecological constraints and opportunities, including in relation to biodiversity gain, and has extensive experience designing and implementing proportionate mitigation, compensation and enhancement. She prioritises working closely with clients, project design teams and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
Anna began her environmental career at Dorset Wildlife Trust as a Biodiversity Officer. She then moved into ecological consultancy, working at both independent and multi-disciplinary practices, joining BSG Ecology in September 2017.
