30 Mar Promotion of the Profession: BSG presents at Swansea University Employability Fair
BSG Ecology’s Becky Gibbs and Alice Connell were among the speakers at Swansea University’s recent Employability Event.
The event was set up to provide second year Biosciences students with insight into the range of career options available to them. Becky’s presentation focused on ecological consultancy as a potential career pathway. The presentation set out what ecological consultancy is about, the range of work we do, and provided a brief summary of the types of companies working in the sector, and how their recruitment systems differ. The presentation then described what BSG Ecology (specifically) looks for in graduate ecologists. As recent graduates from The University Of Swansea, Becky and Alice were able to provide a valuable insight into how they have progressed from a graduate to securing their first roles in ecological consultancy.
The event felt very positive, and there were opportunities for students to engage further with presenters during regular breaks in the day.
