Hannah joined BSG Ecology in October 2024.
Hannah has a range of experience within ecological consultancy, working on residential, commercial, renewable and infrastructure projects, through inception and planning consent to discharge of conditions.
Hannah is competent in a range of survey types and assessments, including UK habitat classification, river condition assessment and protected species surveys including bats, badger, great crested newt, otter, water vole and reptiles. She holds a great crested newt licence with both Natural England and NatureScot. Hannah has specific interest in biodiversity net gain assessments and is certified to undertake modular river surveys and river condition assessments alongside this, working with clients to develop landscaping strategies to pragmatically maximise biodiversity gain post development.
Prior to becoming an ecological consultant, Hannah worked in practical habitat management within a country park. Hannah has a BSc (Hons) degree in Biology, obtained from the University of Sheffield in 2016, this included a dissertation on the effect of artificial light pollution on insects and community level consequences.
