Anne joined BSG in March 2026. She has worked in consultancy and scientific research for a conservation NGO since 2005.
Anne has led fieldwork design and coordination of data collection for complex ornithological research projects, and has extensive experience in scientific analysis and reporting, including peer-reviewed publications, from such projects.
Anne has previously managed and coordinated strategic aerial surveys of waterbirds in UK inshore and marine waters for the offshore renewable sector and SPA monitoring. Anne has designed and coordinated programs of ecological and hydrological research for catchment-scale natural flood management schemes, to assess the added benefits of such schemes for biodiversity. She has experience in project managing ecological survey and wetland habitat creation projects and designing a range of wetland habitat features.
Anne has extensive skills in spatial ecology and GIS, including processing, remote-sensing analysis and presentation of spatial data. She has managed complex mapping projects, including the production of a series of publicly available wetland potential maps, demonstrating the spatial and economic potential of large-scale wetland restoration across the UK.
Anne graduated from Newcastle University with a BSc in Zoology followed by an MSc in Biodiversity & Conservation from University of Leeds.
