Tara joined BSG Ecology in August 2026. Tara previously worked as a Project Officer for the RSPB and as a Wildlife Ranger for Northumberland County Council, specialising in species protection and habitat management for breeding and overwintering birds. She has experience delivering events and presentations and engaging with the public to raise the profile of the birds associated with the nature conservation designations in Northumberland and the impacts that they face.
Tara has held Schedule 1 licenses for little tern and avocet and has assisted bird ringing schemes for little tern and common ringed plover.
Tara completed a Master’s degree in Biological Recording and Ecological Monitoring at Manchester Metropolitan University, and an undergraduate degree in Geography at King’s College London. Her Master’s thesis investigated the effectiveness of diversionary feeding to mitigate predation impacts at tern colonies.
