Emily joined BSG in March 2023, having worked in the ecological and conservation sector since 2010.
Emily is experienced in a range of ecological survey and assessment, and in practical land management. Her field experience includes habitat, great crested newt, badger, otter, and bat survey, with the latter including the use of advanced bat catching techniques, ringing and radio tagging. She holds a survey licence for great crested newt, and advanced survey licences for bats (Class Level 3 and 4), is a Registered Consultant under the Bat Mitigation Class Licence and Bats in Churches Class Licence, and is registered on the Bat Earned Recognition scheme. Emily has prepared and secured numerous Protected Species licences for great crested newt, bats and badger, and has completed significant District Level Licensing work.
Emily’s project experience includes working on behalf of local authorities, charities, infrastructure and private clients (including householders). She has worked extensively on historic building and heritage projects, often working as part of a multi-disciplinary team balancing positive outcomes for ecological, historical and architectural features. She has been a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) since 2018.
