Will joined BSG Ecology in May 2023. He has over 8 years experience working in consultancy and has advised on a broad range of development, infrastructure and conservation projects.
Will holds Natural England survey licences for bats and great crested newt and has extensive experience in badger, otter, water vole, reptile and crayfish surveys. He is a capable botanist, proficient in Phase 1 and UKHab survey protocols, including Defra’s Biodiversity Metric condition assessments.
Will works closely with developers and design teams to maximise a project’s potential for biodiversity and ensuring proposals are in line with the latest guidance and legislation, producing technical reports, impact assessments and management plans.
Will obtained a Masters MZool (Hons) in Zoology from Bangor University, specialising in animal behaviour. His research focused on the navigation, laterality, and foraging strategies of fish. Will is active in several local wildlife groups and conducts annual monitoring surveys of his local white-clawed crayfish population.
