Jamie joined BSG Ecology in March 2022 and has worked in ecological consultancy since 2018.
Jamie has experience managing a wide variety of projects including in the infrastructure, housing, heritage, renewables and mineral sectors. He has a background as an Ecological Clerk of Works and has worked on a wide range of projects, from roadside verges to large scale infrastructure projects. He has provided ECoW supervision and advice on sites containing; nesting birds, dormice, GCN, reptiles, badgers and invasive plants.
Jamie has also undertaken numerous bat emergence and activity surveys, as well as Ground Level Tree Assessments for bats and is competent in bat call analysis. He is experienced in undertaking badger, reptile, water vole and otter surveys. Jamie holds a class 1 licence for GCN and is an experienced in surveying and producing European Protected Species licences for GCN as well as managing complex translocations of this species.
Jamie is experienced in producing a wide range of reports, including; Preliminary Ecology Appraisal (PEA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) as well as method statements and ecological management plans including; Construction and Landscape Environmental Management Plans (CEMP & LEMPS), Habitat Monitoring and Maintenance Plans (HMMP) and Biodiversity Gain Plans.
He has a degree in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation from the University of Reading, is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
