Kirsty has worked in ecological consultancy since 2014 and joined BSG Ecology in March 2020.
Her project experience includes residential and commercial development, solar schemes, onshore wind projects, minerals extraction, waste, utilities and transport schemes. She has also completed survey and assessment in relation to works to extend and widen recreational routes. Kirsty has experience in producing technical reports including Landscape Ecological Management Plans (LEMP), Habitat Management Plans (HMP) and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) for schemes that vary in their size and complexity and has led the ecological input to projects requiring biodiversity gain assessments and District Level Licence applications (for great crested newt).
In the field, Kirsty has experience of leading Phase 1 habitat assessments, protected species presence/likely absence surveys, population assessments and post-development monitoring and holds protected species licences for bats and great crested newt.
Kirsty holds a Master of Zoology degree from Bangor University, which included a research project conducted in combination with the multi-agency partnership investigation, The Celtic Sea Trout Project, studying brown trout life history and ecology in UK Rivers. In her spare time, Kirsty volunteers with Gwent Wildlife Trust contributing to the Trusts Nest Box Monitoring Project as part of the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) Nest Record Scheme.
