15 May Promoting Excellence: Meet our New Directors
BSG Ecology is delighted to announce the promotion of Claire Dewson and Guy Miller to Associate Director and Dr Tom Flynn and Dr Jim Fairclough to Technical Director.
These promotions reflect the operational leadership and support they provide to the company board, and, in the case of the technical directors, their significant technical experience and expertise. Jim is an industry expert with regard to great crested newt (and associated licensing) and invertebrate survey and assessment who also co-ordinates a wide portfolio of residential and minerals-related work. Tom’s specialist expertise is in habitat and botanical survey. Alongside a wide range of project work he delivers training programmes across the company including on botanical identification, FISC, habitat creation and various aspects of biodiversity net gain.
Roles will be wide-ranging but will include developing business, sharing knowledge, providing technical leadership, identifying opportunities to innovate, and co-ordinating training of ecologists at all levels in the company.
These promotions are the logical next steps in our development as an Employee Owned Trust. Our intention is to remain independent and ecologist led long term, and succession planning is a critical part of ensuring we continue to thrive.
